new kitten

I just got another kitten 2 days ago. He was born july 10th so he's not even 8 weeks yet. I have two other cats (one born april 11th 2005, and one born november 16th 2005). The oldest one (mouse) has always been pretty independent and was bothered by the middle one when i first got him, but he got used to it and now they are best friends. the middle one (cubby) has always been the baby, loving and cuddling any chance he gets and constantly kneading at me (i think he was weaned to soon). i just got the baby the other day and now mouse follows him around everywhere, which is cute, but cubby hates him. he hisses and growls terribly everytime the baby is even near him. im worried i made a mistake getting another one. will cubby ever be mommas little cuddle bug again or will he be a grump from now on? im worried. please help!

Give them time to adjust. Make sure that you give Cubby plenty of attention. Rub a towel on the kitten and then rub it on Cubby and then back on the kitten to exchange their scent. Cubby is used to being the baby and he wants to make sure that the little one understands that he is the boss. As long as he is not hurting the baby, don't interfer. That will just upset Cubby. Make sure they all know that you have plenty of love to go around and they will be fine.
