kitten hiding

debas4449 Aug 14, 2007 11:05 AM

hello I was wondering why my kitten sometimes stays in the same room as me and then I go upstairs for a while, but when I come back down and try to find her she is hiding. Is there a reason why my kitten would be doing this?

She is a baby. That is what her mother taught her to do to protect her. When Mommy isn't around, babies are to be hidden and quiet until she comes back. She is hiding and keeping herself safe. As she gets bigger she will stop feeling so vulnerable. Remember, she is just a baby. And a little young to be away from her Mom.

When she gets used to her new surroundings, she'll come out more often. She'll probably forget her mother and you'll become her new mother.

Is this your first kitty? What is her name? What color is she and what does she look like?

Here's a picture of Samantha's kittens. I kept one of them, the little gray one who I named KatyKatt. All of those orange ones look just like Samantha did when I first got her.
