Where did everyone go (again)?

CarolEm&Ed Dec 06, 2005 04:42 PM

Okay, Thanksgiving was more than a week ago, so you can't all still be recovering from the Big Dinner. So...where is everybody??

We had our first snow of the season last night, and Emily and Eddie are now solidly in cold weather mode: Under the covers at night, following the sun around from room to room during the day.

The Christmas tree goes up tomorrow evening, so Emily will be busy wih her hostess and supervision duties while Eddie, most likely, will watch from the hallway.

Hope everyone is well and that you'll check in here when you can. It's very sad to log on and find that there are no new messages.

Both Chris and SkuShi are in full Winter mode also......they're following the heat; be it the registers or sprawled out in front of the fireplace.
Last night, SkuShi gave me such a scare! When she blobs out in front of the fireplace, she looks dead. I went over to her, called her name and shook her gently. She didn't move, not a muscle........totally still. I did it again and still no reaction. I just about screamed. Finally, she raised her head, smacked her lips and looked at me like, "Excuse me, if you wanted something, it had better be VERY important".
Tree will go up next week (having the carpet cleaned on Tuesday). We'll see if we have some little furry assistants.

TONKS ARE FUN DURING THE HOLIDAYS!

Liat is also in winter mode. I have to drag her out of bed in the mornings. Extensive lap time is also required. Just had new vinyl put in the kitchen, which required shutting her in the bedroom for three hours while the seams were treated. When I opened the door and let her out she got the strangest look on her face then looked up at me like "What did you do to MY floor". Then walked very gingerly around the kitchen for several minutes before giving her approval.

Who knows what will happen next?

Talk about winter mode... Some friends came over last night to help me decorate the tree. Normally, Emily would be in the middle of everything, schmoozing and supervising her little heart out. Both she and Eddie were curled up in the kitty bed in my office the entire time. (She did open her eyes and look up when they peeked in to say hello.)

Currently, Eddie is upstairs in a sunny window. Emily is sitting on the radiator.

Oh, for the life of a cat!
