Good Thoughts Please

2TonksHere Dec 08, 2005 06:39 PM

Finster my 7 1/2 month old kitten has been at the vet's since Monday...he has some kind of obstruction in his colon...we've tried everything short of surgery and so far no luck...today was more x-rays this time with barium which travelled nicely through his system until it hit the colon...we are hoping that some laxatives and maybe another enima might loosen things up by tomorrow morning enough for this to pass...x-ray does not show an actual obstruction...but the barium is hinting in that direction...

anyway...it has been 4 days of vomiting, not eating, dehydrating, and now losing some weight...tomorrow may be surgery...

His spirits are good, he's purring like a truck...and aside from this is a very healthy cat...so I'm certain this will all work out ok...but...the more good thoughts the better...

Here's a pic of the little guy...

Thanks everyone...Good news Finster is home...finally...after a very rough week and a lot of help from my vet he was able to pass everything and avoid surgery...

I have to keep him separated from my other two for a few days so I can monitor what goes in and what comes out...but so far he is eating, drinking and eliminating quite nicely!!!! We take one more trip to the vet on Wednesday for one more x-ray to make sure it is all out.

It's never a dull moment here with these three!!!!

Sorry I missed the original message. Glad to hear Finster is OK. He is quite the handsome fella.
