Mold is growing in numerous spots in my new viv. Should I be worried?

addam4208283 Oct 14, 2003 09:34 AM

It all started with mold growing on the brom. flower but when I woke up this morning I noticed it in many other areas as well.

I have had mold problems in the past with my first tank but it all self corrected itself in a week or so. Will the same happen here?
Thanks in advance.

This nearly always happens with all of my new vivariums. I just wipe it off the glass and let it peter out. On one occasion I had some doubts when a fuzzy mold covered a frog that had died within 12 hours of having seen it alive and moldless. But it proved not to be the cause of death, only mold covering dead organic matter. (The frog apparently died of an internal injury caused from a fall onto rock.)
