Jake to the Vet

mskc Apr 24, 2006 10:57 AM

Hey all,

Today is the third time Jake will go to the vet for breathing problems. The first time he had an upper respitory infection and the second - he sounded fine to the doctor. The vet gave us a great idea of recording Jake on a camera when he was breathing weird since sometimes animals don't show symptoms when at the vet.

We have a couple of recordings now and I hope she can find the cause. He is my precious baby and the runt of the litter, so I am worried.

I'm praying for something minor.

I hope it's nothing serious...

My Fin has chronic snots and will do this "reverse sneezing" thing every so often...he sticks out his toungue and sounds and looks like he is hyperventilating...if this is like what Jake is doing it's not serious and really what he is doing is sort of the equivalent of us blowing our noses....cats will also do this when they breath in something that irritates their nasal passages...for instance Alastair did it one day after I bleached the kitchen floor...it is a very common occurance with dogs, not so much with cats, so it is worth having the vet take a look...I'll send good thoughts his way!!!!

My hubby just called and Jake has some allergies. 2Tonks hit the nail on the head - Jake must have been dealing with the snots when he made those weird breathing noises.

Thank Goodness!
