Rodent Ulcer

stacyann98 May 29, 2006 09:15 AM

Happy Memorial Day. Hope you are all enjoying the holiday with loved ones. Just curious, does anyone have any experience with rodent ulcers? (not really caused by rodents, but that's the name of it). My Isabella -out of the blue - now has them. I have started her on some lysine and vitamin c.... the usual treatment is steriods, but my vet has us waiting since she is still a young thing.

I haven't heard of them, but am sorry to hear of so many Tonks going to the vet lately. I hope everyone heals quickly and stays healthy!

Good luck with the ulcers, they do not sound very pleasant.

Rodent Ulcers are also known as granulomas. I had one cat who had them each spring. With the help of the vets and observation, we all decided it was an allergy to something that was only present at that time of year - we never did figure out what. Good luck with the treatments.

Oh no...I hope the lysine works out for you...I know it is doing wonders for Finster's snots...I always feel so much better going with supplements rather than meds or steroids...

I hope she is clearing up...keep us posted and give her big smoochies from all of us here!!!!
