Do Tonks Hiss?

stacyann98 Aug 04, 2006 12:53 PM

Rigby is now 16 months old and he is so unlike my previous cat, or even my parents' cat... Except for 2 days, when I first got Isabella (he hissed a little bit), I have never seen him hiss or bite anyone - EVER! My mom's cat and Kleopatra used to bite when they were aggrivated and wanted to be left alone. And we'd get occassional hisses from them.

There can be the little nips, when he gets a little excited, but nothing serious...or intentional.

But I don't see that trait in Rigby...just wondering if it's all tonks... I think Rigby has a lot of influence of Isabella - b/c she's the same way! So well behaved and friendly!

"My mom's cat and Kleopatra used to bite when they were aggravated and wanted to be left alone."

I don't think there has ever been a Tonk on this planet that would bite because it wanted to be left alone. (LOL!!!)

Alastair hissed at Finster when we first brought him home for about a minute and a half...until he realized what a nice soft fluffy pillow he made!!!!

LOL...my tonk has NEVER asked to be left alone! He is needy and will take all the love and attention you can dish out. He does hiss at the puppy occasionally as a warning to leave him alone!
