There is no 'best' persay, when it somes to the bloodline of a specific morph, Pastels included. Personal opinion is what play out here. I personally prefer Greg Graziani's line of Jungle Pastels simply because, from what I've seen, they seem to hold their colour VERY well, and since I have 2 now, and two more on the way, I would be crazy to say otherwise. It's all about personal opinion on this one, genetically, health-wise, one is as good as the next. Just pick your favorite!

Well you answered my question just as I wanted it answered. Which holds its colors the best, ect. And your right one is as good as the next. I too will be getting my pastel in July. Graziani. So I was just wondering what other people had to say about the - of each bloodline. Ex....Nice babies, Dark Adults......

Thanks Again......Mike

Does the quality of the Pastel vary with the amount of yellow in the normal parent (I'm assuming the most common pastel male X normal female cross here)?

I'm thinking of looking for a pastel male this year if hatch and sell enough nice babies to fund it. I'd be tempted to breed it to my two biggest females but they are both rather low yellow. I've seen a couple of the low yellow pastels now and while they are interesting my favorite thing about pastels is the really yellow ones. Maybe I'd be better of breeding a pastel (if I get one) to smaller but more yellow females.

I would think that the better looking the normal parent be, the better "quality" pastel offspring you will get. When I get my pastel, I will be breeding him to the VERY best high yellow females I can find, because I am not spending BIG bucks on HIGH quality pastel. I will refine my products by breeding him to a nice yellow female.

I would GUESS thats how it works. I dont see why not.

I mean the better the parents the better the offspring.....Right............

You can have two great looking parents and still come up with something normal.

You guys are forgetting the OTHER PASTEL that's now proven. It's the BLONDE PASTEL. You can see that in Ralph Davis' site. I got lucky in getting one from my imports last year. I just got another this year and she's a beautiful apricot color right now. She'll be a nice blonde later but I hope she'll stay this apricot yellow and possibly prove to be a different pastel.

This is the pastel I want. It shouts out! I saw it or one of them at a show. If price is right and I see one my credit card comes out! Done and said.
Picture is from NERD. Hope they do not mind sharing their picture for all to see.
