scratching

me again.. while Im thinking of all this.. did anyone have any problems with the cats scratching their couchs? Ive read you need a couple of cat trees but since I have leather sofas Id have to have some deterrent so they dont get ruined. Did anyones cats reject the cat trees?

i have a cardboard angled scratcher that they both love. he used that 90% of the time. but then i got a new couch, it was a knit material and something about that made him LOVE to scratch it! i resorted to a slip cover which did the trick for me

Okay good to know.. Ill have to cover my leather with something just in case and I read you need to clip the nails but I dont know if that helps alot. Im going to keep a few scratching posts or boards around the house.

yes, i clip their nails myself but they still have the cat instinct to scratch. but they really like the cardboard alpine slide thing i have
