Finster's Fort

2TonksHere Jun 16, 2008 01:08 PM

After weeks of diligent work, Finster finally tore a hole in my boxspring, opening up a whole new world...

It seems, however, him and Alastair have decided it would make a most excellent wrestling ring...with matches starting around 1am...

So, as my bed was shaking and rumbling me out of a dead sleep last night...my immediate reaction went back to that pesky poltergeist I seem to keep thinking I have...but, as with the "crinkle crinkle" balloon, and random cabinet door openings...I was relieved to find out, once again, it was just my silly cats....

Once of these days though...they are going to succeed, in giving me a heart attack...

LOL, they can find the most amazing places to have wrestling matches!

I can make a couple of suggestions, put a fitted sheet on the box spring and/or go find one of the zipper on type mattress covers to put over the box spring. A sturdy piece of cardboard slipped inside the hole and fastened in (glue or staples) before covering with the sheet and/or mattress pad may discourage them, at least for a while.

Too funny!!!

Brings back memories of a few years ago when Emily did the same thing. She broke into my box spring just before I was ready to replace it. Once I evicted her a friend helped me take it downstairs, where I leaned it up in the hallway until I could put it out for the town refuse collection, which was a few days away.

Thank heavens I checked it out again before I took it out to the curb, because Emily had made her way back in and had settled down and made herself totally at home.

Never underestimate the ingenuity of a cat!
