Sad Day

TerryB Jan 06, 2009 09:21 AM

I write today with a heavy heart and soul. Yesterday we lost Liat. We are not sure what the cause was because it developed so rapidly. She was my first house cat and I will miss her tremendously.

I will remember her with attitude to the end. I took her to the vet yesterday morning. The vet took blood and brought her back to the exam room, then went to process the sample. Weak as she was, she stood up, looked my right in the eyeas if to say "OK, I've seen her, now let's go home", and walked into the carrier.

Dulcie is a bit confused because I left with Liat in the carrier and came home with a carrier and no Liat. But she already seems to be adjusting. No crying or searching, just telling me how much she loves me.

RIP my beautiful girl

Oh Terry,

I am so terribly sorry for your loss.
I have so much enjoyed reading your stories about Liat's exploits and her sassy little attitude.

I hope that you can take comfort in knowing that you gave her a wonderful, happy life--even though she was way too young to go to the bridge.

Please know that you are in my thoughts. And please give Dulcie a special hug from me.

Carol

Oh Terry, I'm so sorry for your loss...I wish I could say something to make it easier but losing a companion is never easy.

Please know you are in our thoughts and we'll miss Liat also.

P.S. I'm sure Aston was there to greet her on the bridge.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss!

I know it may seem silly to say this, but... don't let anyone let you feel wrong for grieving as long as you need to. I've heard people say "oh, its only a cat/dog/etc." like you shouldn't feel sad and depressed when they die. I know personally I have been made to feel stupid for being so upset over the loss of a pet- please don't let anyone else make you feel that way!

I loved hearing your stories about Liat. She will be missed!

Thank you all so much. It gets easier, but I soldier on. Dulcie is truly a blessing because of her unconditional love.

we will keep you in our prayers...

Terry,
I just received my hard copy of Aqua Eye and recognized Liat's name. I hope the New Year has gotten brighter for you and Dulcie.
All the best to you both.
