This week's burning question is:
What would you like Santa to bring for you this Christmas. Or if you don't do Santa and Christmas, what is your heart's desire?

Actually I have everything I need, or really want, although I'd really appreciate it if I could get into the chorus of Pirates of Penzance. The stage director wants to cut the women's chorus to minimal proportions. He doesn't want any "old" people on stage, and actually singled me out as someone he doesn't want. The chorus master wants his experienced singers and his best voices on stage, and seems to want to fight to keep me. So who will win? I don't know...it's scary.

I hope you get to at least be in the chorus....even if that other dork of a guy won't let you have a role in the show.

You know, this seems to have nothing to do with you, your age, your voice and everything to do with a battle for control between these two. I imagine the production could only suffer from it
They are both narrow minded idiots and I agree, the production will suffer, no doubt.

There's 2 things that I want Santa to bring me the most....
1) A digital camera. I'm tired of having to buy disposable and if I have to buy a new one anyhow then I want a digital.
2) A new bookcase from IKEA to match the other one I have. I have a whole rubbermaid full of books that need shelves cause we had some built in ones in our mobile home and not in this place.

I want my extended family to be peaceful. My father and soon to be former s-i-l got into a tiff this fall and no one has been able to see or speak to the grandkids since. I drove 3 1/2 hours last week to deliver gifts to them and had to endure her screaming at me for an hour in the driveway over every slight real or imagined from the last 12 years. It's a mess.
A few days before, Big Scary Man had relatives in from IL. We only got a short visit with them because the evil aunt and uncle deceed we were not to be invited to any family function (again)
A little peace on earth, goodwill toward men would be nice.
I don't really want or need anything -- it is tough for me to give my parents ideas each year...
If I had a wish, I wish I could be home with my Mom and family in Texas for Christmas. She was baking a bunch of cookies last night... Brought back a lot of memories when she was listing off all she was doing...
I was there in August for her surgery, with my Dad in Iowa for Thanksgiving, and I plan to go to my Mom in Texas for a visit in the spring... It just isn't in the cards for Christmas, but that is my "wish".

We generally do not do Christmas gifts between myself and my husband (the sub-human). Right now I am pretty well content so I really cannot think of anything that I would consider my "heart's desire". Maybe I am too mellow??? LOL!

With me having a December birthday, sometimes it can be a blessing or a curse. He did give an I pod for b'day, and I am having fun downloading and playing with this little gadget. As for what I would like,it would be to be retired, are you listening Santa?
Well I know what I want! A ring, a house and a puppy. but that isn't going to happen. I would settle for the ring. But I am enjoying my time off.
MA sorry to hear about the jerks.I hope you get to sing.
KR: sorry to hear about the family not getting along. That must be so hard.
Tammy: I wish you where able to spend time with your family.
Kathryn, When did you move into a new home? I missed that or forgot. Not sure which. I hope you get the new camera so we can see all those baby and kitty pics.
Pam: MERRY Christmas
Kasia: I hope you have a wonderful year and are able to retire soon!

We moved summer of 2005 while I was still pregnant with Laura. We had moved out of our mobile home and in with my parents for 6 months and then found this place to rent. But in the mobile home there was a built in bookcase and so I could store books on those along with the one my dad made me when I was 16 and the IKEA one I already have. But this place has just one small built in and hubby uses that for his computer stuff since it's tucked away in the hallway. So I have 1 rubbermaid full of books and need a new IKEA bookcase. Santa didn't bring it though.
Santa did bring that camera and he even brought one with video feature. I already played around with it too and got a few pics and a short video out of it. If anyone wants to see just e-mail me and I'll send the link.

I would love a new couch myself and perhaps a DVD player.
