I'm Baaack!

PHMadameAlto Feb 20, 2007 09:17 PM

Like Christmas, or the proverbial bad penny I have returned after taking a leave of absence from my PH duties.

On February 9, 10, and 11 I was in the chorus for the San Antonio Opera Production of Pirates of Penzance. Prior to that I had rehearsals every night for three weeks because the staging was so complex. Just when I had recovered from that, I attended the annual music teachers' convention! Now I've gotten back together and hope to be back helping host these boards again. Many thanks to the other hosts who covered for me in my absence!

PS - we had two costumes - one had big old hoops - we had a lot of "bumper car" collisions on stage. The second was our night-gowns. Supposedly they were Victorian, but they were so transparent that we all wore slips under them!

It's about time you got back! You have been missed... I was starting to get worried about you (sent an e-mail a few days ago).

I am so glad you were gone doing something you love. The costumes are great!

Welcome back!

I wondered what the final call was between battling directors! I'm so glad you got in! Good to know talent can still win out!

Welcome back MA! And hey....I have another online friend that also attended that music teacher convention. How cool to "know" two that attended!

TMEA is one of the largest music teachers' conventions in the world. Counting the students who participate, there are usually 40,000 people! And, sad to say, they all seem to want to stop in the middle of the walkways of the exhibit hall to either talk to each other, or talk on their cellphones.
