Does doing ground runs on small aircraft qualify as operating heavy machinery?

I rode motorcycles when I was 18-19 but not since.

Only been passenger on motorcycles. Yes to the machinery if a big ol' John Deere tractor or a boat counts.

Not sure what qualifies as heavy machinery, tho. My Dad is a Heavy Equipment Operator and my mind flew to construction equipment like cranes...

Only ever a passenger on a motorcycle, but have driven forklifts, boats, tractors, and huge military vehicles (2 1/2 ton trucks).

Haven't driven any of the above in the last 15 years.

By the way, MA, I could tell immediatly you've never "driven" a motorcycle as you ride them, not drive them. I was corrected enough on the difference when I was very young... My present day Harley friends jump on anyone that refer to driving vs. riding...

No to motorcycles and to heavy machinery and have to agree....don't want to. Yes, to boats...speed boats and jet skis. Have been a passenger on a cycle when I was much younger.

I tried a mini-bike once when all the kids were still home. I decided right then and there I was not co-ordinated enough to drive any type of motorcycle!

No to real heavy machinery, but yes to motorcycles. When I was young, my dad had several motorcycles, including a Harley hog, a Honda Goldwing, and two small ones for my sister and I. We took training classes, and I would drive the Honda myself with my dad on the back for weight and balance (maybe about 10-11 years old?). I haven't since then, and wouldn't know how to anymore now.

I haven't driven either of our tractors here, but I suppose I should learn someday ...
