I lean toward starches, myself - crackers mainly, although chips are good.

Well, starches, chocolate and ice cream will always do the trick but if I had to just say one particular meal, it would likely be homemade chicken and dumplings.

I came up with three "comforting" meals and all of them had mashed potatos in them. So, mashed potatos. With or without gravy. I like to mix corn into my mashed potatos w/out gravy and with some salt...
