Over or Under

First of all, let me say Madame Alto needs to hurry back and start Getting to Know Mew back up. As you can see by my next question, I am challenged for topics... But, I am dying to know ...

Do you hang your toilet paper with the tail haning over the roll, or under the roll, or does it not matter to you?

Hanging, that is...

My Mom always taught us to hang it over the roll. So we did. Then she married my Step-father when we were young and he is a hang under... He had no peace. He'd hang it under and we'd all change it automatically when we saw it was wrong...

I think the tendency is over, as I have only ever met one other person that hangs it under (a friend of mine).

(Madame Alto, HURRY BACK!)

I prefer over. Samantha doesn't seem to care if it's over or under because she will claw it up any way that it's hanging. So in my master bath, it's over; in the hall 1/2 bath, it's not hanging on the t.p. holder but sits on top on the towel rack. And in the bathroom upstairs, I've never noticed how they hang it but have heard Pam complain that Samantha tore up the toilet paper again.

Samantha likes to get a hold of a roll of toilet paper, carry it into my bedroom, then rabbit kick the heck out of it. I'll come home from work with toilet paper all over my bedroom floor. She especially likes those Charmin mega rolls. I no longer keep the rolls stored in the bottom of my bathroom cabinet. LOL.

How wonderful to do nothing and then rest afterwards. Meow!

I grew up in a paper under family - heaven help the child who replaced the roll with the tail hanging over.

I'm married to a man who doesn't care which way it hangs, or even if it's hanging at all, but we do have to have LOTS (and I mean LOTS) of TP in reserve. I buy it by the case and he starts asking me if it's time to buy more when the case is half gone. I still occasionally hear about how I scared him when I let it get down to 6 rolls in the house. (I will never, never do that again!)

When I dated Prince Notsocharming years and years ago, I rented an apt where the bathroom was accessed by going through the bedroom. The Prince a little anal - hanging the TP under would send him into spasms. Once he lovingly led me to the bedroom (!!!), only to pull me into the bathroom and lecture me on the importance of hanging TP correctly. Another time he went in, closed the door and screamed like a girl. Sad part was, he was really upset, it wasn't a joke.

Now that I can see again after the tears from reading about Prince Notsocharming (and identifying due to once being married to a relative of his)......definitely a hang over person here!
If someone replaces a roll "wrong" I have to "fix" it. Why would you want to dig around under the roll to find the beginning sheet?

In a normal bathroom, I prefer the over method.... that said, some male masochist put the paperholder on the wall at the back of the toilet, on the left. I was having a problem with my left shoulder, so stopped using the roller and just perch the roll on top where I can grab it. I am planning on redoing the bathroom and if I don't put the holder on the vanity cabinet - across from the toilet, I will get one the free-standing holders.

I hate to admit to this but I am obsessive about "over". I change anything that is "under", even at work.
