I believe Storr's monitors are the smallest, followed by ackies.

My old timor is almost 29 inches (measured today where his new home is at my friends). An ackie can range from 16-22 inches for a yellow and 19-30 inches for a red, there are several smaller species. -Storrs- are 30cm total, -scalaris- 60cm total, -primordius- small around ackie size, -pilbarensis- 50cm total, -mitchelli- about 70cm, -kingorum- 40cm total, -glauteri- about 80cm, -gilleni- about 40cm, -eremius- about 46cm, -caudolineatus- about 32cm, -brevicauda- about 23cm, and a few others Im cant easily reference.

Varanus brevicauda is the smallest monitor.

There are a number of species smaller than ackies.
