Under What!?!

cyclopsgrl Jul 24, 2007 07:17 PM

OK. Truth time. We've been dabbling in some light subjects so far. Time to really delve into our deepest secrets...

Are you good about replacing socks and underwear or do you drag it out until holes start to show, elastic stretches, etc...?

Socks I am good about. A hole appears, it is in the trash or in the rag pile (clean) for use in house cleaning.

Underware... Well... I JUST hate spending money on socks and underware. What a waste! So, they usually aren't any I'd want to be caught in an accident in and rushed into the hospital for emergency surgery where a Nurse will see them when prepping me, prompting her to call my Mom...

But, I am not horrible. I usually do a clean sweep of the drawer every one to more like two years when I start getting nervous about wearing them and the risk of the above nurse scenario.

Now, I am not talking about the random pair you have for your beloved to see on special occasions, if you have a beloved, I am talking about what you grab every day when you get ready for work or to face the day...

Like you, socks go as soon as a hole appears. (Think that comes from wearing a holey pair when I was a kid and getting blisters!)
Underwear goes if a problem appears, usually elastic. Bras probably are kept longer than they should be! I rarely go into Ross without checking their stock because that's the best place to find bras without wires and I refuse to wear those killers!

All my adult life I've been meticulous about bras and underwear. As my mom once put it - you might get into an accident - and the doctor may be single! I've been known to grub the clearance racks to find a gem green bra to go under a gem green shirt. Even if granny pants were the best option under an outfit, they'd be granny pants in a nice material!

It all fell apart when I got pregnant. Most days I'm just grateful I have unders! I've got some 20 pairs of victoria secret cotton pants waiting in a box that I bought in the first few weeks, before I knew why I felt so sick every morning - not that I'm ever going to squeeze my butt back into them...

Maybe if I get in an accident and have to go to the hospital, the staff will be too busy admiring my kitty cat socks to notice my blah undies. ha!
