What do you cook very well that either you love or you have friends/family request it?

I think the item I am most known for, most requested is my Country Style ribs. Slow cooked in the oven... I usually only make them in cool months as you have to have the oven on for 3 hours...

meatloaf, if you can believe it. I get requests for it all the time even from a couple of self confessed meatloaf haters. Makes me wonder what the rest of the world is putting in theirs.

That's funny. Meatloaf was my second item, almost put it down vs. the ribs. Folks love my meatloaf, but I have to confess... It is my Mom's recipe. I've had many in my life, but always go back to Mom's. Moist and perfect. I think hers tastes better than mine (even tho same recipe), but I always get raves when I make it for guests... We'll have to swap secret recipes some time to see how close they are... Do you put a can of beer in yours?

I've had beer basted pulled pork and beer marinaded hamburgers but what do you expect when a couple of 20 year old guys decide to grill out? They used Old Swill too - really don't recommend it

Dad's poison was Budweiser. For YEARS, I swear everything he cooked was boiled or marinaded or basted in Bud. Some of it was good (the grilled stuff such as beer can chicken), but the worst is when he boiled hotdogs in Bud... Gag!!!

My cousin married a woman whose father has owned a couple of Italian resturants in NYC during his career. Father-in-law has always claimed it was his mother's wonderful cooking that inspired his success - it became part of his personal legand he shared with family, friends and clients.

Every year the family went back to Italy to see Grandma and while there her father would not let his saint of a mother cook - she worked so hard for so many years, backbone of his success, his turn to wait on her, sit, sit, spend time with your grandkids and great grandkids.....and he would take over his mother's kitchen and she never cooked.

Well after 20 some years of this, he had a heart attack, and Grandma flew to New York for the first time, determined to take care of her boy. For the first time the grandkids and greatgrand kids got to enjoy Grandma's legandary cooking that inspired resturants...

....Grandma can't cook. She can barely boil water.

He finally admitted it was just how awful his mother's cooking was that drove him to be successful - no one should have to eat such bad food!
