How early do you start shopping for Christmas?

I started last week which is normal for me. I hate the stress of last minute shopping, and by buying for months I can give better gifts without blowing the budget.

I started a week ago Wednesday. Younkers had some MP3 players on sale for $60 (regular $150) so I called a friend who works there and had her hold two of them for me until I got off work that day. Then in the afternoon when I stopped by there on my way home, I discovered that they were sold out but still were holding mine for me.

David will be getting a black one and Paula will be getting a pink one. They'll be happy, especially Paula, because she's been asking for one for a few months now. I just keep telling her "In your dreams!". LOL.

By the time that Christmas arrives this year, the tree will be filled with goodies underneath of it. I always have a tendency to go overboard on the grandchildren for Christmas.

I will pick something up during the year if it just screams perfect for a certain person to me... I usually have a couple items I get like that in the closet. In November, I get quite a bit of my shopping done as all three nieces in Texas have December birthdays, two the first week of December! The other is closer to Christmas. So, while I am out getting their BD gifts, I go ahead and get my Christmas list completed... I mail a lot of it out, so want to have it done by early December to get it out in time...

Only a couple to buy for so pick up things whenever I see something appropriate or neat. Decades ago, when there were
more to buy for, I ended up shopping on Christmas Eve and swore, "Never again!"

I usually wait until the first week of December. I don't have many to buy for, so I don't have to start too far ahead.

I have already started. Hate the last minute running around, traffic, etc. Also the plastic is not used around the holidays, just the Christmas club money, which also helps pay for the roast beast on Christmas day (last year it was 22 lbs). Normally I am done by Thanksgiving, I know, shoot me now....
