One of the women I work with was ranting about how her husband would use the cheap $1 a bottle shampoo if she didn't buy it for him. But "we girls" know better and use the expensive stuff, blah, blah, blah... I kept quiet. I use Suave shampoo more than anything. I don't notice a difference when I use salon stuff or more expensive store stuff. I do use a more expensive salon leave-in conditioner I discovered in the 90s (Nexxus). I suppose that makes up the difference in what I pay for shampoo... Can you tell the difference in cheap and expensive shampoos?

I have been using Nick Chavez shampoo & conditioner (purchased from QVC.)and it's been great for my fine hair. I've noticed that my hair is more manageable and seems to have more volume. I also keep it trimmed every six weeks so I don't have split ends.
I've also used L'Oreal Vive Pro, which is another good brand. Since I have highlights, I use the shampoos for color treated hair.

Shampoo on the cheap as well. I tend to stick to the Dove products, but then there are days like today when I had a toddler firmly wedged against my legs in the shower so I couldn't reach the shampoo without knocking her over so I used what I could grab - baby wash! Mmmmm, lavendar scented....

good thing I don't color my hair anymore!

Funny you should ask that because my routine has been the joke of family and friends for years. I have very long dark hair and it is pampered. I usually have at least 4 brands of shampoo's open, with matching conditioners of course, and going and I rotate between the 4. I currently have Herbal Essences, TreSomme, Finesse, and Pantene. My all time favorite is Redkin but it is hard to find around here. Oh and heaven forbid if my late husband or now grown stepsons so much as touched my shampoo's. I bought cheap store brands for them. My step daughter however was permitted to use mine.

I use Paul Mitchell, as this is recrommened by my hairdesser. Hubby, who as almost no hair, likes Nexus with Biotin, claims it makes his hair thicker. BTW, he also as a comb-over, well hairsprayed, and in the wind without a hat,,,,

Hey, I live with one of those, too! I tell him I can go stand under where he's sprayed his and get enough hairspray for me!

I also have long hair but it's definitely not pampered. I use a lot of Suave or White Rain but also like the Vive Pro and Infusium. Just can't see spending the money for basically same stuff under a fancy name. One thing I always do is rotate between four or five different ones because any of them can build up. Prefer combinations with conditioners but not always.

For several years now, I've been using Matrix Biolage shampoo and conditioner. Seems to work the best on my fine, naturally wavy hair. With my short cut, all I ever have to do is shampoo, comb and let it dry. At age 65, I'm still wearing the ducktail that I had in the 50s except now it's losing it's color and no longer has the tail.
