Hi From Texas

cyclopsgrl Sep 04, 2007 06:14 PM

Wanted to drop a Hi and let you know all is well here, spending time with my nieces and Mom and all. Two very nice days, and now a lot of rain. Started early this morning and the forecast calls for a lot of rain.

Pet sitter just called. Pookey is doing well. She says he is eating a good bit -- quite a bit. She only gave him the appetite stimulant once and has decided he doesn't need it. He's eating, drinking, and using the litter box regularly. She's spending a good bit of time with him twice a day (AM and PM), reading and watching TV and petting him -- almost an hour each time. She says he's doing very well. My neighbor also dropped an e-mail a day or so ago, she's visiting with him in the evenings before bedtime and he's eating treats, etc... Overall, sounds like he is doing well, no loss in appetite.

I am better. Stanley is overshadowing this week, at bedtime, I think about him a lot. Hard to sleep. During the day, I am doing OK as I am preoccupied with a 4 1/2 year old in the house. Daily walks to the park, etc. Today we didn't go to the park, but walked about 30 minutes in the rain (with an umbrella) as she loves going for walks.

Time to go play some Candyland before dinner...

So glad that Pookey is doing well. With that much undivided attention, he might just decide that you can stay wherever you are. I am glad that you are having a good time and enjoying your visit. When you think of Stanley, remember all the good years and the love you shared. You made the right decision for him and he is at the bridge, running, playing and eating. Enjoy your vacation and let your heart start to heal with the love of your family.

Tammy - I'm glad to hear that Pookey is doing so well and that you are on the road to healing. You gave Stanley a long, healthy, happy life - please don't second guess yourself and enjoy this time with your family.

Tammy - so glad that all is going well with you and your family! Pookey sounds like he's doing good for the sitters! I know the pain that you feel with Stanley, but please know that you did the right thing. He's happy at Rainbow Bridge now and in time, I believe that we'll all be together again.
