....where are you going to build your (first) vacation home?
I've always wanted a summer home in western Montana where I could go hiking, but last week while playing the "what if?" game with Big Scary Man I decided I wanted a condo in San Diego too. (hey, for $330 million, I could have both!) I have friends there and the weather is great year round.
Big Scary Man wanted the gentleman's ranch in east Texas. As it was we got $3 of dreaming and schemeing for a few days.....

Alaska! Maybe one inland plus one little island off Sitka. With a private jet so I don't have to hassle at the airport!
Dreaming! What fun! Ok, what I would get for a new home would be to have a big post and beam house built where we are now. House #2 would be a boat, at least 35', moored at Cape Cod Canal marina, preferably a Bertram. The boat would have to have all the proper electronic toys for hubby, down riggers, tuna stabilizers, and cushy interior with full bath (no more using a bucket). Hire cat-sitters for when we are on the ocean. Also, a housekeeper to vac the hairballs, and someone to mow the lawn!
I would like a lake house with maybe enough space for a couple of horses. Would also build and run a no kill cat/dog shelter in this area, there are very few of them and they are always full.
