Got in last night. Pookey did well. I had good updates during the week from the cat sitter and neighbor that he became more social as each day passed, ate, drank, and used the litterbox regularly. He hasn't left my side since I came in last night. I'll be home this week (except for work) and we'll get our routines back that comfort him and he'll get his balance back.

Tuesday is two weeks without Stanley. I am not as guilty about the decision. He was declining quickly and I worked closely with the vet. I have a memory table I've set up next to my computer with a couple favorite photos and a special trinket box I got that holds his "dog" tag he always wore (that I got them when they were very young). It is tough as he is "everywhere" in the house, but the guilt is fading more into good memories of him.

I plan to slowly move forward with a very busy week ahead at work, Pookey, and discussing nail polish and cereal bowls with you guys on the board.

Glad that you are home and safe, glad that Pookey is fine and adjusting well and glad that you are letting go of the guilt and enjoying the good memories. Of course he is everywhere, Tabitha has been gone for 2 years and Samantha for 1 and I still occasionally think of places in the house as their places even though there is usually another cat on them. Remember most of all, he is in your heart

Tammy

I've not been on the boards in a while due to a bereavement in the family.

So sorry to hear about Stanley but I know it was for the best also. Hope you are doing ok. My thoughts are with you and Pookey.

xxxxxxx

If you ever need to talk about your loss, I'm hee, I'm still coming to terms with the loss of Max even though it's been over a year now, the house is full of memories and I try to keep it that way
