I'm a redhead and have always avoided red, pink, yellow... Many bright jewel tones look bad. I have started wearing a darker orange of late... Love blues, greens, greys, purple...

I don't wear a lot of black but I look best in pastels as I have dark hair, eyes and complexion.

I have a very pale copmplexion naturally but very rosy cheeks which I have had since birth......urgh !!, because of this oranges always look too much but as long as I'm made up....red and bright pink I can get away with.

My hair's blue-black so any colours really go nicely. Black and deep green suit my eyes / skin tone / hair colour best

If I wear certain shades of beige, I look like a jar of peanut butter so none of the safari style for me. Everybody else gets to look crisp and outdoorsy.
Other than that, I wear most everything but don't care for much blue and don't wear a whole lot of pastels anymore. Black, red,
army green, sage, hot pink, jade, purple are all favorites.

And, redheads can wear more than they realize. It's usually a mindset formed in early years. I've seen redheads who were knockouts in pinks, yellows and reds.
Try a little bit in a scarf or an accessory like a purse or bangle bracelet to get yourself used to the idea. Even slower, this winter, wear a pair of those bright socks around home.

That reminds me, my mother never liked herself in yellow (which makes no sense because it looks okay on her if it's bright.) She never bought me yellow things and I was a teen before I discovered I looked fine in it. Another case of early-years
conditioning.

Thru the years, I've tried various shades of red, yellow, and pink tops, and KNOW they are not one of my better colors... I do wear pink, yellow, and red with other colors in a top; but will not wear them solid. I have a pair of pink and a pair of yellow ankle socks I already wear around the house. Won't change my mind to wear them in a solid form in a top/pants.

Okay! As long as you've tried it and didn't like it!

I'm more or less a redhead - my hair has gone from strawberry blonde to deep red to washed out auburn in the last 15 years as I've aged but I can wear soft pinks and yellows and if it's a blue based, "cool" red, I look stunning in it.

Or as my neice once told me - "it doesn't matter if red isn't your favorite color, it looks really good so you HAVE to wear it!" Who am I to argue with a 14 y.o. fashionista?

Well, definitely! LOL
But her logic does make sense, at any age.

That's what my hair has done -- strawberry blonde as a youth to an auburn today. Various shades inbetween getting here. As an auburn, I can wear different colors than I did when I was young. I've added in more oranges and yellows than I used to wear...
