What time is it?

Do you own and wear only one watch? Or do you have a selection and change your watch with your outfit?

I have several watches, most of them novelty and given to me as gifts, but I only wear a basic, blue faced silver link watch day in and day out.

I have more than one watch but really only wear one. It is gold and silver so it matches everything. It has a back up old one that winds, in case it's battery dies.

Good question. I too have some in a drawer that were gifts, etc., thru the years, but seldom worn (like never). I stick to one watch at a time. Usually a two-toned watch... I like the Spandex bands... When it finally dies, I get a new one...

I have found the cheaper, the better. I get years out of a Timex. But, my Pulsar didn't last nearly as long before totally dying and needed a battery change every year vs. every few years...

Ok, I have two watches. The first, is a Rolex. Yup, it's a real one. When I was in college eons ago, my part-time job after classes was in a jewelry store. The watch I had died, and a replacement was needed, so the watchmaker said he would order me one. Thought a nice Bulova would come in, or maybe an Omega, but instead he got me this. Has served me well, but now it needs service and the repair bill ($350 ) is more than I paid for it. Now until the money is saved for that bill a nice battery watch, also water resistant is on my wrist.

This story reminded me of a horrid social climber I dated briefly a few years ago - your casual attitude would have driven him nuts. Couldn't you at least make something up so we would think you paid more than the price of a used car? LOL! And you worked for that watch? That isn't haughty enough! Where's the story of the torrid love affair and the captain of industry you had eating out of your hand? The social climber would have starved himself to get that watch fixed....

....which is why he hit the bricks after a few weeks - the night we left a party and he discovered I knew another guest was a millionaire and didn't mention it to him.....(she was wearing JCPenny, how could he tell?!)

I still have my white gold Bulova that I got for my 8th grade graduation but it no longer runs. For everyday, I just wear a cheapo from Target or Kohls, about $20. When the battery runs down or it no longer runs, I replace it with another cheapo.

Timex with silver expansion most of the time because I flank it with silver bracelets. Wish it were a wind-up. Also have a "good" watch of some sort with a black band, present from my folks years back. Put that on if I'm wearing any gold. Bought a $5 one with gold/silver expansion band at Big Lots in case I want to get daring. LOL
