New Year, New You!

kittyromeo Jan 02, 2008 12:01 PM

In all my life, I've only been on a diet once (adkins, which I rate as one of the dumbest things I've ever done) and while BSM took 10 days of vacation over the holidays, I overheard him tell his brother repeatedly how great it was to eat at home - his blood pressure was better, his weight stable, he was getting plenty of veggies.

I, on the other hand, had the biggest holiday weight gain in my life My goal for the new year is to just get back to normal.

Do you have any goals for the new year?

I gave up on them a long time ago. New Year's resolutions never last long for me...

I do need to lose weight and threw out all the holiday goodies, etc., left over in the fridge last night and have pretty healthy food in there. I put on more weight than normal, as well, over the holidays. 5 lbs in less than two weeks... Yikes.

My only goal is to keep my calendar up to date with the due date of bills so that I don't end up sending one late and paying the late fee, only because I forgot. And to leave work no later than 5pm everynight. We will see how long those two last.

Well, l've also given up on resolutions. Last year, I wanted to lose twenty or thirty pounds before my birthday in fall. I lost five. Guess the good thing is that I didn't put them back on all year. MOL At this rate, I might lose thirty pounds in the next six years. Guess that could be a goal.

NO CLUE where the rest of my answer went!!!

I was going to say I actually write "pay Visa" on the calendar ten or twelve days before the due date, so I get the check in the mail in time for it to get there.
If money not in bank account then, at least I have a constant daily reminder to mail it as soon as possible but most of the time, I get it in the mail in plenty of time.

Getting away from work on time is a different story, especially if you have people who dump on you or begin things late in the day. Good luck with that!

Hope everyone has a great 2008. Katc

Ok, getting back on my bike and loosing the weight that my Doc has been yelling at me about is top on the list. Next is getting finances in order. Retirement (but not stop working) is looming, and as a result of a merger at work, I am being forced to retire from state service. The new company is giving me 2 weeks to figure out health insurance, and all the other crapola before my assimilation to the Borg. Ugh, the paperwork! They need my marriage liscence (after 30 years, God knows where that is),birth certificate, etx.
Next on the list is to try and get Bradley & Kasha to like each other, to stop him from biting. Got a full plate!

Nope, not a one. See no point in depressing myself later if they haven't been met. I prefer happy surprises when something is achieved.
