Its timeto get back to what we do best - discuss really serious and important issues --

So, who makes your most comfortable bra? What would you tell the designers if you have your way?

Leave it to you to get us back to the serious stuff.
I don't have a favorite brand anymore. Biggest important feature is no underwire and a strap that doesn't slip. I always go down the bra aisle at Ross because you never know what will turn up there. Sometimes luck's with me and there'll be a couple of good ones so that's where I usually buy.

Now.............have any of you been fitted to know you're wearing the proper size?
I haven't; just goes with what looks good under the clothing and feels "right".

Amen on the features. I found one by Curvation that fits the bill on no underwire and no strap slip.

I was fitted during a dress alteration years ago for a wedding I was in (Bride's Maid) because we needed a strapless half bra to go under the dress. The fitting numbers no longer count.

I have measured myself with a tape measure to get in the ballpark before I try on to save time if I've gained/lost weight.

I have been fitted a couple times but it has been a real long time, I doubt those measurements are anywhere close. I just go with what feels right.

I've been fitted several times the last few years - keep getting the same (laughable) numbers as I get when I measure at home - doesn't help much. The band is usually fine, which means I actually find underwires comfortable, but I just wish the designers understood some of us haven't gone under the knife for perfect melons - gravity works.

Barely There made one I really liked, but they didn't stand up to a toddler grabbing the edge of the cup to pull herself up (there's a way to get unwanted attention in the grocery line!)

I finally got fitted a couple of years ago since I am petite, definitely where gravity has done its thing, and always having straps slip because I am narrow-shouldered. I finally found one that I like - it's a new style by Bali that has has some sort of layer of material on the underside of the strap that keeps them from slipping - and it works. When I finally got them and tried them out, I really liked them so I bought a couple more. It seems like every time I find one I like, they will stop making them.

I like Victoria Secret's Very Sexy. My only complaint is they don't make a 32 C. I think that is an odd size to find.

As long as someone makes it!

My former sister-in-law had to have hers custom made for several years - by the same woman who made bras for Morgana the kissing bandit, who use to run out on baseball fields and attack the players. And a girlfriend whose m-i-l works for a plastic surgeon, had a custom fitting done by a company that specializes in fitting adult entertainment performers who had extreme implants - even that company couldn't fit her, and she's all natural!

Definitely true!!!!!!!! About everything! I've gotten where I hate to admit liking something because I know within a year, it won't be available anymore.

Since I am "amply endowed", I did have a hard time finding a comfortable "over the shoulder boulder holder". Underwires are downright painful for me, and finally found Playtex 18 hr that is comfy. Went to Macy's a few months ago to get a new one, and they not only stopped carrying Playtex, but in my size I had a choice of one (1) bra! Grrrr
Finally found a Playtex outlet about an hour away, and stocked up.

This reminded me of something I intended to mention.....When my mom went to be fitted for her prosthetses (sp? whatever the plural is), there was a young "amply endowed" woman who came in just to buy a bra. Some friends had told her about coming there for the best fit and selection.
This place is just a metal building business that the fitter has behind her house but she's done it for 25 years and makes all the women very comfortable. (My mom, a very shy type, had been really concerned about going)
Anyway, would never have thought about just shopping for a bra at a place that served cancer survivors but the prices were not exorbitant and there seemed to be a big selection of styles, from plain to fancy/lacy, at least at that place.

>>LOL Brings to mind two things.....1) a hysterical photograph of a poor older woman who was still wearing a swimsuit many years too young for her. Everything was wrinkled and saggy except the top. It was funny but so sad; like those of the anorexics in bikinis The caption was something like "silicone never ages"
2) A few years ago I was in a yoga class (before it was popular) The shapely little girl teaching it looked fantastic. But, when she lay flat on the floor for some move, I got the giggles because she'd so obviously had hers done (hadn't been sure before). Instead of the natural spreading, there were two perky points that hadn't changed at all from when she'd been standing. Got to thinking she surely couldn't lie on her stomach.
