>>Did any of you watch Eli Stone Thursday night? Verdict?

I watched it and found it quirkily entertaining. A nice show that should work (but probably won't since I liked it.)
Of course, I liked the Book of Daniel and it tanked before it got a chance.

I watched it from the beginning, mostly out of curiosity because it was supposedly was set in OKC. (definitely not and
doesn't even render the buildings or scenery appropriately, much less the accent. Supposedly, they are to work to remedy that.)
Stayed with it, past the sex and crudities, and the show actually has a better message than its trappings indicate.
But, personally, I don't see the appeal of the scrawny little actress with the grating voice.

Neither, but I saw the ads for Eli Stone (came on after LOST), but I was too tuckered out to watch it. I was also curious how it is as it looks very quirky, but I liked Ally McBeal which was very quirky, especially as it went along.

Is that why her best role ever is generally considered to be "The Piano"? Because she never spoke?

I read online that Eli Stone was going to center on an autism case and decided not to see it. I've had a few people hounding me that my kid must be damaged goods, (she is after all, MY kid) and the term autistic gets tossed around a lot. (she is totally fine) Got turned off on Eli Stone just on that point alone.

This old lady can't stay up until 10 when Eli Stone comes on. Even on weekends, 10:30 is late for me. I also enjoyed The Book of Daniel, wish they hadn't cancelled that. Wish our parish was as well endowed as that one was!

Well, the first show did center on the lawyer winning a case for the mother of an autistic child who sued the drug company.
But, I didn't get the idea that the shows to follow will be that way.
Think Eli's "visions" are to set up the cases he "is supposed to take." Like, one of the other visions in this show, of him with his dad at a younger age, led to him knowing where his dad wanted his ashes spread.
So, you might give it a shot sometime if you're available and it's on.

And I didn't see "The Piano" so wasn't aware of Holly Hunter in it.

One of my all time favorite movies is "Always" with Holly Hunter, Richard Dreyfuss, and Brad Johnson. She was very good in it, they all were. Excellent movie. But, the coming scenes for "Saving Grace" did not appeal to me, so I skipped it. I hesitated only because it was Holly Hunter, but she seemed too harsh and brassy to have to watch for an hour.
