Funny Baby food story

Sals Oct 14, 2003 03:05 PM

Ok, I've saw the baby food posts and it reminded me of something I did a few months ago while getting baby food for my geckos (one R. ciliatus and 2 Phelsuma laticuada). Naturally I only needed one jar. Now, I do not have any human children so I guess buying just one jar is strange. The older lady at the cash register picked it up and looked at me strangely "Only one?" she asked. "Isn't that all you're supposed to give them a day?" I asked her. Her face went stark white and it looked like she was about to faint! I had to tell her I was kidding and they were for lizards. I know it was kinda mean, but it sure was funny!

We raise ball pythons (among other things!). One of them got blister disease last year. We took him to the vet and we were prescribed silvadine cream. It's a human medication used to slough skin off of severe burns. So the vet wrote us a prescription.

My hubby went to CVS, stood in a long line. When he got to the counter the pharmacist asked the name of the patient. He said, "its a snake". *blank stare* "Well.. uh.. I still need a name", he gave the name, "Date of birth?" "It hatched" "oh.. um... when?", etc, etc,... As this was going on the old ladies waiting in line for their blood pressure medication kept backing away slowly. It was really funny. I love messing with non-herp people!

See ya!
