Snow, snow and more snow

kittyromeo Mar 08, 2008 07:59 AM

8 inches of snow on the deck already today and its coming down hard - with no end in sight.

Stinky has been up on Punky's stool in front of the window swatting the snow creeping up the window pane complaining loudly. We offered to open the door for her. Only got a nasty look in return.

Cross your fingers that we don't lose power today!

Stinky does not like snow on her window and she doesn't find your offer very amusing either apparently. Teehee! You could put her on a leash and let her go out and yell at the snow in purrson. I am sure that would scare it away.......NOT. Not much snow here. Once again they warned us of a "severe storm" and we got a dusting of snow is all. It is snowing now but doesn't look like much to me.

Oy -- I hope the snow has let up and you kept power. Also hope you were smart enough to by cases of toilet paper, bread, eggs, and milk at the store yesterday when they warned you all it was coming... Or, at least you have plenty of yogurt and granola (yeck) to eat...

Stay warm and try not to tick off too many kitties today.

I really could not believe the shots of the snow up there today on the weather channel! Hope you managed to stay warm and Stinky's not too bent out of shape with the invasion of the white monster outside. Take care!

In just over 24 hours we got a little over 20 inches. The record here was 15 inches, set back in 1910. Not quite the blizzard of '78 (its only drifted up 6-8 inches on the sliding glass door, not OVER the door completely) but a serious snow.

After watching the neighbor make heroic efforts with a shovel for hours, we opted to not even try; it snowed all day until twilight. Tomorrow will be a busy day.

We were originally suppose to get alot of snow here in NE Indiana, but the storm moved southeast of us and we got less than an inch. We had gotten 5-6 inches last Tuesday. That was mixed with ice, so it was hazardous driving at first.
Our city had used up all its supply of salt for the roads and when the latest storm was predicted, they had to go elsewhere for more salt. Luckily, they didn't need it after all. I'm not sure how they could have run out of salt, but the city must not have estimated correctly. Anyway, they were ready just in case with a new supply.
