Anyone take advantage of the Corned Beef Briskit sales, whether you are Irish or not?

I picked up two, one for now and one for a few months from now (freeze). But I probably won't make my first one for a week or so. I made a big batch of Reuben Soup yesterday that took care of my corned beef fix for now...

Usually I love corned beef but..........well lets just say that I ate it at work today and it really didn't agree with me..or maybe it was the cabbage.....I don't know but it isn't sounding real good right now. Never heard of Reuben Soup, love reuben sandwiches......usually. Not right now thank you very much

I bought all the ingrediants for corned beef & cabbage, hubby made it yesterday while I was doing paperwork. He thought that I looked helpless (it worked!) while trying to transfer the beef from one pot of boiling water to another. My grandmother, who was a great cook, taught me to at least double boil the beef to get out all the salt.

That's so flippin' simple?!? Why didn't I ever think of it?

BSM had a rough day anyway - then he was hit with a headache from too much salt after dinner. (Corned beef with potato and carrots)

Boil it twice - agh! Guess what I'm doing next brisket? thanks for the tip!

I do like good corned beef but have never boiled a piece of beef in my life. Beef from a grill is good. LOL
