Rediscovered cat tunnel

teganslaw Nov 24, 2008 12:41 PM

Last year I bought a collapsible (sp?) cat tunnel from Petco. Neither cat was interested in it so I put it in the upstairs closet where it's been for several months. Today I noticed Star laying inside the tunnel. She likes sleeping in the closet and has apparently been using it for a few days. It seems like the tunnel is now her new hiding place. I had given up on either cat using it again. Sometimes it pays to be patient with cats. They change their minds on how they feel about things.
I think that Star knows Quentin won't look for her in the tunnel. She likes to hide from him so he won't bother her.

I have learned through the years that there is no explaining cats. Mine seem to go through stages. They will play with something for days and then ignore it for months and then suddenly they act like they just saw it for the first time and play with it again. Like the cat trees, they will all jockey for a seat on them and then suddenly no one wants to sit there or climb them. Then after a couple weeks, someone will walk in this room, look at the cat trees as if to say....Wow, would you look at that, it is a cat tree and climb up and play or sleep on it.

You give me hope. Maybe I'll put the fabric covered foam "cat box" I got Pookey up for a couple months and pull it out again. Thanks for the idea and I am glad it worked for you!
