I'm spitting mad again...

Well, this time someone stole my credit card number! The company called me, asking if I had made charges a thousand miles away from where we live, I said no. Someone stole my number!! How DARE they!! Hiss-spit. The account is closed, and I dont have to pay for any of the fradulent charges, but sheesh! Said it happened at some big clearing house for credit card transactions, I did nothing wrong. Those folks should get a big bag of used kitty litter!!

How awful and unsettling. I am glad you don't have to pay any back!

That happened to a friend of mine about a month ago. Her daughter is in college, so they use pre-paid credit cards. She was contacted by the bank that someone had stolen the account number and tried to use it repeatedly (they didn't realize it was pre-paid as it looked just like a real Master Card). They didn't mind, tho. The daughter only had $2 left on it at the time, LOL...

Oh -- the bank questioned it because the family is in Maryland and the card was being used repeatedly (unsuccessfully) at a WalMart in Arizona, LOL...

The bank wanted to alert the parents not to recharge it.

At least you don't have to pay for the charges. But I would be mad about something like that also. I hope that everything gets straightened out.

BLASTED people! I had a similar thing happen to ME. I could not get into my bank account online. It was locked. I had to wait over the weekend and call and then I found out someone in "Georgia!!!!!" had tried to hack into my account.

They did not get any money but I had to set up a new account and get permission from the online security to access it. THEN to make matters worse they said they would allow outstanding checks to come to the old account - deposits and checks BUT then they changed their mind. I had to drive miles out of my way to get a man to tear up my old check and accept cash instead, AND my disability and Tax refund check came to my old account and i had to wait until they could be rerouted to my new.

I am STILL spitting mad!
