Genetics Question (1st time breeding)

CiaoBella Aug 27, 2003 10:01 PM

I plan to mate my female lilac point (her mom is a seal
point; dad a lilac point) siamese with a male blue point
siamese (no info on his parents) - what are the
possibilities of the offspring to be any of the following:
a. seal point b. lilac point c. blue point d. albino
Also the female is 1yr 6 mths -- the male I am looking to
mate with is still young (>6mths) - how young is too
young? Thank you for your feedback.

It sounds like you could have a rainbow litter but you won't get any albinos.

BTW, why are you breeding to a male with no info on his parents? Where did you get him? Are these cats registered?

Siamese boys can be very precocious. I have had two litters bred when they were only four months old.

A lilac point bred to a blue point can only result in blue point and lilac point kittens (gender is unrelated to color for this color series).
