Found a Kitten in Minneapolis Minnesota

ciscobird Aug 02, 2003 05:09 AM

I found a kitten by the dupmpsters behind our apartment building. He is about 3 months old I would guess. I just couldn't leave him out there. When I brought him in he ate like crazy and is very curious and playful. I noticed a fresh scar on his mouth accross the bottom and then a chunk of skin out of his upper lip. It doesn't look infected. He is also missing his lower canine tooth on the right side by one of the scars which leads me to think he was hit by something.

He was filthy so I rinsed him off. He seemed to appreciate this. He is now sleeping on my bed.

The problem is I can't keep him. Though I am not allergic to kittens I am terribly allergic to cats. I want to find him a good home. Every summer the humane society is full of cats and many are put down. It would break my heart to bring him there.

I will ask everyone I know if they want a kitty. I am in Minneapolis right now if anyone is interested.

Thanks

Hi,

How good of you to take this cat in and try to find a home for him.Awe what a cute little guy. Looks like he may be a little older than 3 months, but it's hard to tell in a picture.

As for suggestions on finding him a home. You may want to contact all the local cat rescue groups. If you are not sure what groups are in your area you should check out our Rescue listings. If you don't find one there here's the url of a search engine
World Animal Net Directory: http://worldanimal.net/wan.htm
It should return most all local groups for you to look through.

You may also want to look into posting him at Petfinders.com too.

Lucks of luck to you.

Awww, he is such a cutie! Bless you for rescuing him and trying to find him a home. Try contacting all the local rescue groups around you, no kill shelters, place ads in the local papers, maybe some flyers in supermarkets, vet hospitals, pet shops and libraries (if you go the private adoption route, always ask for a donation even if it is made out to a local rescue. You can place an ad on Petfinder.com too in the pets for adoption section, as well as right here on Cathobbyist.

That is one HANDSOME boy!!!! Do you still have him? I can't be much help, because I am in California, but if you want to email me, I might be able to put you in touch with some that might be able to assist you. mustwin@myself.com
