Need to rescue a stray quickly...ADVICE PLEASE!

littleangel77007 Sep 14, 2004 11:09 AM

Over the last few weeks, I've seen a cat wandering around in my backyard (which is mostly woods). We aren't sure if she's a stray or not, so we just let her be. But now I'm pretty sure she's a stray, because today she ran through my yard with 5 small kittens! I want to get her and the kittens and take them to a rescue center, so I called the local humane society, APA, and animal control, and none of them have humane traps available right now. They all put me on a waiting list and said it'll probably be a few weeks. What am I supposed to do now? Please help! I don't want these kitties out longer than they have to be, and I REALLY don't want mama or the babies to start reproducing!

That is a hard one. I would ask around and see if any one, neighbors, have a have a heart trap. Also, you might be able to make your own trap. Where the kittens walking or was mom carrying them one by one?
Or you could buy a trap if you have the money. I found this one below for 39.95
Good luck. Maybe some one else will have better advice.
