Bladder Blockage

astilover May 22, 2006 02:27 PM

Can you tell me what the "polyporous combination" consists of? I've heard it can help with keeping bladder problems in fleines at bay and is a chinese herbal combination. My 2 y/o DSH ploy in currently in the hospital, but shows no stones or crystals. I had a cat for 19 years that suffered with bladder stones and crystals, and am hoping to help my young cat avoid all those surgeries if possible now that there is more knowledge available.

Thank you
Colleen

Polypores are a particular class of mushrooms. The best way of preventing crystals, stones and blockages in cats is to never feed dry food. This is the only sure way.

Oh he is definately going to be fed wet/canned food from now on! I think this is my fault anyway! I stopped feeding my cats canned food every meal because they were getting fat, but now I find out it's the other way around. Any suggestions on the best kind of canned food to prevent crystals that all my cats can eat? I feed them at 6 am and at 5 pm every day.
Thanks!

Any kind of canned food is OK as long as the cats like it. But it is very important to eliminate all dry food, not to simply add canned to the dry.
