i ahve a catabout 10 -12 yr old wants to et but as soon as she tries to eat she hisses and jumps back ??

This often occurs if the cat experiences pain when it tries to eat. Check the cat's mouth for inflamed gums and loose teeth. If these can't be immediately taken care of, take fresh meat or canned food, add an equal amount of water, and liquify it in a blender so that the cat can take it as a liquid.
