dementia_damage Nov 22, 2006 11:23 PM

Hi..I need someone to help and this is a the first place I could find someone... I can't afford a vet bill if nothings wrong with my cat... It all started when he had dried blood in his ears...kinda like it just rained it...then it went to his other ear..and now he has crusty patches on him..you can't really see them...but you can feel them.. He also hasn't changed...he's not sick or acting weird...Is it maybe just a rash? and his ears have cleared up pretty well so I don't know... Please help someone!!!!!!

Hi,

This sounds like more than just a rash. It is going to take a vet to examine your cat and diagnose what is going on. It is impossible to make a diagnosis otherwise.

I highly recommend that you take your cat to a vet ASAP. A skin scraping should be done to rule out the possibility of mange, his ears need to be checked, and it's likely that some kind of medication will be prescribed.

Your kitty must be very uncomfortable, so please don't put this off.

Regards,

What's mange???How bad is it??

Hi,

Mange are mites that burrow under the skin. If your cat should have this, it's very treatable, but you need a vet to diagnose it. A skin scraping should be done, which would show mites or mite parts under a microscope.

Any time something isn't right with an animal, think of your veterinarian. Vets do two things; they diagnose what is wrong, and they treat the animal. From your message, I am unable to tell what is wrong, so I can't tell you how, or even if, to treat your cat. A veterinarian, after examining the cat, should be able to tell you.

Hmm...See and that's the problem...I will go into debt just walking into the vets office. He also keeps fighting and now has gotten really hurt..I'm kind of in the middle of a rock and a hard place here....
