? about hairballs

assie2071 Feb 03, 2007 08:09 PM

I have a 3 years old main coon mix who has hairballs at least once a week. I have tried everything that my vet and I can think of, from various foods to laxatives even sauces and treats to help her. she reaches for several minutes when she has one, and tries to bring it up three-four times before she is succesfull. Is there anything that can help her that I havn't tried yet.

Try adding a teaspoon of finely ground wheat bran to her wet food at each meal. You may have to add some water to restore the consistancy of the food, as the bran absorbs water.

Thankyou, I'll try it.
