I had a colony of mealworms that got what I think were grain mites. They got banished to the garage in hope it will get cold enough to kill the mites, but not the mealies. But I failed to notice the mites before they got on the snakes. We sprayed down the cage with Prevent-a-mite not all of them died. I was told they couldn't live on the snakes. Is this true? They are kept on Aspen bedding right now. Should we put them on newspaper till the mites go away? How long do grain mites live? Any help will help. Thanxs lots
