excessive shedding

Precious princess Peachy has tons of very downy hair and has dandruff. I think this happened because the water she drank as a kitten was too salty (water softener). I worry about this continuously. I have grooming tools that remove the under hair, yet she still has plenty, it comes out in handfuls. How can I help her?

Some long-haired cats have very fine fur, which tends to clump. It helps to brush them as often as possible to keep the hair from knotting up. As a preventative, you might give one dose of homeopathic Sulfur 1m.
