Is there some kind of test for food allergies in a cat? 5 year old female. Or is it hit and miss with different canned / raw foods?
Thanks,
Mike

Allergy testing is very unreliable. The best way to test for food allergies is to stop everything but one simple fod, such as fresh chicken, nothing else, for 3-4 weeks, and see if there is improvement. If there is, add back other foods, at a rate of one per week, until you find an offending food. If you do, stop that food, keep feeding what has already shown to be safe, until the symptoms disappear, and then continue testing more foods. If you can't clear the symptoms with chicken, try another meat, such as beef or lamb.
