Remedy needed for URI symptom

quill Nov 12, 2007 01:42 PM

What would you recommend for a cat who is recovering from a URI but who now seems to have phlegm, mucus,or some type of nasal discharge that appears to be trapped between the back of the nose and throat? The nasal passages aren't blocked and there is no sneezing or coughing but it impedes the ability to eat because the accumulation threatens to descend into the throat. Various approaches to try and correct this have produced little result or only temporary improvement. Thank you,in advance.

You might try putting some eucalyptus oil in the room where the cat spends the most time, as this should thin the mucous and help it move out.
