My "feral" cat threw up a large "worm" this morning. Anything I can give that's not prescription, to put in her food? She's not tame and almost impossible to place in a carrier for a vet trip.
Thanks,
Mike

This is a roundworm, normal for cats, especially cats that eat mice and birds. Pyrantel pamoate (brand name Nemex or Strongid) is safe and effective. It may be available at a pet store or a farm supply store.
Sure is a big one for "normal". Never seen anything like this before, but there's a first for everything. Will try to obtain from web source or my vet (hopefully, I don't have to bring her in, because she won't tolerate any handling.)
Thanks again.
Most of products found are for dogs, puppies. Can I use for cats also, or must it be feline specific?
Thanks.
It is safe for cats as well. Use the amount recommended for a dog of equal weight.
