surgery w/o vaccinations?

Roshani Jan 07, 2008 12:50 PM

I have a 9-month old indoor female kitty who has recently gone into heat and I want to get her spayed because she is peeing all over the house! She has not had any vaccinations because I think they are harmful. My question is Do you think it's safe to get her spayed and expose her to all the potential feline diseases lurking in the vet's clinic? I am hoping to totally avoid even a rabies vac.

Thanks!

If she avoids other cats and stays indoors, she is very unlikely to pick up any infectious diseases. Most vets though will not spay a cat that do9es not have all its vaccinations. Try to find a vet who will. Your cat should not have anydirect contact with other cats in the vet clinic. It should be pretty safe.
