Bleeding gums in two feral cats.

mingdurga Jun 17, 2008 08:29 AM

They've both had their teeth cleaned and scaled in the past month, but there's still gum bleeding on one side when I brush their teeth. I'm trying to brush twice a week with these girls. They're very difficult to handle, even with the towel wrap. I use the petrodex double sided brush with a cats only toothpaste.
Any remedies to try for the gums. All my cats get raw turkey meat daily (with bone meal, brewers and nutritional yeast), cooked turkey breast; artemis and natural life cat food. I also give them natural grass, in small containers, to chew on, plus some live crickets from the pet store.

Thanks,

Mike

The best way to kep a cats teeth clean is to have them chew through bones, such as smaller chicken bones. Wing tips, ribs, breast and pelvic bones are best, and will keep the teeth free of tartar, as long as the cat will chew them.

Raw or cooked? I'm a vegan.

Preferably raw, but cooked if the cats won't eat it raw.
