lethargic during shed

steve71 Oct 14, 2003 06:38 PM

my female went into shed about 5 days agoe ,pink belly blue eyes and fadded colors. and she seems to be pretty lethargic she has not shed yet. and yes i am keeping the temps around 86-88 and am supplying plenty of humidity with a dish big enough for her to soak in with a uth under it. also i gave her a warm bath yesterday for a half hour and then she just sorta hung out on me for an hour. normally she does not do this about 30 mins is all she likes and normally she is active when i hold here. sorry if this seems all elementary but im new at this and this is the first time one of my bp has shed i was hoping to breed them this winter.

Well, firstly there is absolutely no need to bathe your ball unless she is a BAD shedder. The extra humidity is more than enough. Secondly, of course she's lethargic, she's shedding, for one, she's almost completely blind, so she's not into roaming, and shedding takes A LOT of energy, that's also why she's relaxing. I also would try not to handle her until after she has shed. Very stressful.
